It's the last day that the (remaining) cafes are open in Berlin. Before going back home, I stopped at the supermarket. Hermannplatz is always a busy spot (as I wrote here: letterstobarbara.com/the-coronavirus-chronicles/) but today it was almost empty. There's a shopping center straight at the square, Karstadt, which seems to be there forever. Karstadt shut down earlier this week, and the doors -as you can see in the video- are locked. It makes sense: the main entrances serve the shopping center. However, in the basement, there's a supermarket, and since I needed oranges, I thought of stopping by. I tried to see where the entrance is. On one of the doors, it said that you could reach the supermarket through the parking lot.
I walked around, searching for the parking lot. At first, I missed the door: it looked like an emergency exit. Then, I saw a note pointing to the door, I opened it, and I went downstairs. I really felt like a rat searching for food. When I opened the last door, well, the supermarket was there. "Is this a dystopia?" I wondered. I mean, I just reached a supermarket in the basement of a shut building via the emergency exit.

The Fortress of Palamidi in the coastal town of Nafplio, Greece, was built by the Venetians in the early 18th century (Read more: https://letterstobarbara.com/palamidi-fortress-nafplio/). It has a total of eight bastions, and its a typical example of baroque architecture. The locals claim that you need to climb 999 steps to reach it, but this seems rather exaggerated: in reality, if you want to reach the Palamidi Fortress, you just have to walk 857 steps.
I reached the Palamidi Fortress on a warm day in early summer. The castle is in excellent condition, and as you can see in the video, one can enjoy spectacular views of the Aegean Sea and Acronauplia. If you happen to be touring around Peloponnese, I think that the Fortress of Palamidi is a must-see.
This video from the Palamidi Fortress is filmed with the DJI Osmo Pocket in 30 fps, 1/60 Shutter Speed, and I used some ND filters due to the intense light. I edited the footage in FCPX.
