Corbin lock opened without a key by lockpicking.
This lock is a KiK (key in knob) format. This type of lock cylinder would sit inside a housing within a door knob or faceplate. The benefit of KiK cylinders when it comes to locksport is that they are usually cheaper than mortise cylinders, smaller (easier to store or carry around) and more beginner friendly to gut.
This one has a nice (more challenging) bitting and surprised me with having security drivers in every pin stack! I grabbed this one to film solely based on the high low key cuts, planning to discuss how to approach it, but the pins were distracting when I noticed the feedback.
The security pins are spools, with some being thin lip spools. Spools are usually the first type of security pin that new pickers will encounter and have to learn to deal with. The counter rotation that they give while setting, and the false set they can place the plug in before setting really throws people off.
