The levee road at Cora, IL offers a great public vantage point to see the coal transfer facility rotary dumping train cars. From here, the coal is conveyored a few hundred feet over to a waiting Mississippi River Barge. To the left of the dumping building is a set of steel arms on a track that grab ahold of the car. It then pulls that car, and by extension the entire trainset, forward 1 car at a time. The rotary dump clamps onto the loaded car, flips it over then back again before starting the whole process over again.
