Here I review a Copper & Kings American Single Barrel Brandy hand selected by Binny’s in Chicago. It’s very similar to the standard Butchertown bottling that is widely available and both are bottled at 120 proof and retail around $60.
Copper & Kings is currently bottling sourced brandies that are then matured in Kentucky ex-bourbon barrels. Even though they’re a fairly new distillery (established in 2014), they already offer 3 traditional grape distilled brandies which are the un-aged “Immature” for $30, a Small Batch brandy for $35 and the 120 proof Butchertown for $60. They also bottle two apple brandies, four absinthes and they even have four beer barrel aged brandies that sell under the “Cr&ftwerk” title.
As of 08-09-2016, my current bottle count stands at over 2,350 bottles. I am a Certified Specialist of Spirits and have also been certified by the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT). I've been actively collecting for the last two decades and what started as a small basic home bar has transformed (with the help and understanding of my wonderful wife) into what I think is a pretty nice collection.
