Cool Bass Technique for Chords, Palm Muting, and Great Tone! - Thumb and Fingers Plucking
I'm excited to share this cool bass technique with you guys! I use thumb and fingers plucking on almost every gig I do, regardless of style, because it is such a useful way to adjust the tone of your bass to fit the moment. In this lesson we'll explore a few different applications of this easy-to-learn but effective bass technique.
I love to use thumb and fingers plucking on my Peavey Cirrus especially, because it has a very "active" sound and I often want something more thumpy and vintage-y, so palm muting and then plucking with thumb and fingers is my go-to solution.
Take the ideas I throw at you in this video and come up with your own musical etudes! Use this technique for your own chord progression, and try doing some palm muting on your favorite funk line. You'll get the most out of these lessons by using them as a starting point and then taking yourself even further.
