When a pandemic disrupts our lives in a dramatic manner, there are economic consequences which need to be kept in mind and through this video, a crucial issue is tackled: consumerism after COVID-19 or to put it differently, the economic consequences associated with the inevitable post-pandemic consumer behavior changes.
Unfortunately, imagining a world where the virus just goes away miraculously and all of the economic consequences we have dealt with thus far disappear with it is... let's say excessively optimistic.
The virus may very well go away but at least some consumer behavior changes are here to stay, from changes when it comes to employment (an exacerbation of the "work from home" phenomenon) to changes we make as consumers.
Will consumerism as we know it disappear after the COVID-19 pandemic?
Probably not.
Will it however suffer changes?
Most likely and among other things, it's important to try to figure out the degree to which our economic system is likely to be affected by these changes as well as... you've guessed it, what we should do about it :)
