Anna Decanini celebrated her 105th birthday with family, friends and staff at Brightview on New Canaan in Norwalk on Friday.

Decanini was born in New York in 1921 but grew up in Lucca, Italy, surviving World War II and eventually returning to the United States to raise her family. She’s lived at Brightview since 2019.

"I had a good life," Decanini said. "The way I lived, I wish everybody would have that.”
