A Congress Central Election Committee meeting is currently underway in Maharashtra amidst a rift with Uddhav Sena over seat distribution. The divide is specifically over at least 15 seats demanded by Uddhav Sena in Vidarbha and Mumbai. Uddhav Sena now wants Sharad Pawar to mediate between the two sides ahead of the Maharashtra elections next month. The Congress is set to go ahead with its meeting and possibly announce its first list by early tomorrow morning, even as the impasse over the seats continues.
