India and China have agreed on disengagement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Both countries will restart patrolling along the LAC, following several rounds of diplomatic and military talks. This development comes after the Galwan incident in June 2020, which had halted patrolling activities. The agreement on disengagement and the resumption of patrolling is seen as a significant breakthrough in India-China relations. However, there is no confirmation yet on a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.
