In this video we look at the dead tests continuity of the CPC, polarity and insulation resistance of our conduit lighting circuit controlled from a 1 gang 1 way switch. The circuit is wired in PVC single insulated cables using the conduit loop in method. This means the lighting points do NOT need a loop terminal as we will take the permeant line conductor to the switch and not to the light. I demonstrate how to test at all point in the radial circuit for continuity of the CPC measure in ohms recording the highest reading as R1 + R2. The we go on to preform the insulation resistance test at 500 volts DC in the megohms scale on our Megger MFT tester. The comprises of a 1 gang 1 way light switch, the straight skirted batten lamp holder and the consumer unit (fuse box) fitted with and RCCB and 6 amp type B circuit breaker
