In this video, I break down the two-plate lighting circuit method, a common wiring arrangement used in domestic and commercial installations where the supply is taken directly to the switch first, rather than to the ceiling rose as in the traditional three-plate method.
Using a clear wiring diagram, I explain how to wire a one-way lighting circuit using 1.0mm² twin and cpc cable, showing the path of the permanent line, neutral, cpc, and switched line conductors from the consumer unit, through the switch, and on to the lighting point.
