In this Griptape Experiments showcase, we map out how an AI-driven pipeline functions inside a studio production environment by integrating Griptape, Nuke, and ShotGrid.
This prototype defines clear operational roles: AI/VFX Supervisors build complex tools within the Griptape node environment, which are then assetized and published to a centralized ShotGrid repository. From there, artists can load the scenes into a headless execution environment inside Nuke. Using a custom workflow node parser, the system automatically translates the Griptape start and end flows into custom Nuke gizmos complete with the correct text or image inputs.
We also demonstrate a custom dependency queuing system that manages multi-node generations in Nuke, ensuring tasks execute in the correct order. Once a result is approved, artists can "lock" the node to clean unused generations from the script for a clean final publish. Finally, the video explores a custom automated creative review tool capable of taking visual or audio inputs to generate actionable text annotations on lighting and compositing details, helping artists rapidly improve their work.
