For the past two months or so, we have been in constant communication with video chats and messages. So, we decided that we should encourage other builders to do collaborate as well and get to know each other better. We call it “The Community Collaboration Contest.” Here is a brief recap of the rules and prizes:
Rules:
1. Must pair up with one other builder and make a screenlink together.
2. No time limit
3. No limit on materials (screenlink can be dominoes, kinetic art, Rube Goldbergs, etc.)
4. No limit on subject matter (you can have themes if you want)
5. Deadline is July 31st
6. To submit:
Title the video “Community Collaboration Contest Entry” or “CCC Entry”
Send either of us a link to your video in the comments.
Prizes:
Both builders who build the winning screenlink will receive four subscriptions between the two of us, spots on our featured channels lists, signed pictures, materials, etc. from our videos, and jackofallspades98’s secret prize!
Tips:
We are looking for signs that show you were working together frequently. Try not to repeat tricks, or have the transitions between clips look bad or strange. Also, it will help if you include some overlap between clips, or even domino fields from both people that spell out something.
Now here is something you all need to heed and pay attention to. We realized after making this video that this contest might not only bring closer friendships between builders but also feuds could evolve. Let’s say Domino Builder 1 asks Domino Builder 2 to be his partner in the CCC. Domino Builder 2 declines the offer and gives some lame excuse for it. Then Domino Builder 2 asks Domino Builder 3 to be his partner in the CCC and they team up. Domino Builder 1 could possibly feel that he/she was thought to be an ameteur and his/her feelings get hurt. And from then on he/she hates Domino Builder 2 and Domino Builder 3. As much as we realize the potential for this, we have confidence that the domino/Rube Goldberg community is a friendly environment and each builder will play nice! So to everyone who wants to enter: please don’t make an argument like the one between Domino Builders 1, 2, and 3 evolve. We are all friends here on YouTube. Let’s stay that way.
