Within the community, we all use phrases like "foreign object," "autotilt," and "timing trick." And some of these phrases sound a little strange, and could mean something else entirely out of context. So TheRGMGuy01 and I decided to theme an entire machine around the literal meaning of some of the community's favorite phrases, and make tricks based on the alternate meanings of these phrases. There are seven phrases we used, but only five are pointed out in the video. Can you spot the other two??

For the last week of July, Chase and I got together at his house to build this machine. We knew we wanted to make this machine ahead of time, and I'm glad we had an idea already, because it really helped me get started building. I'm a very slow builder usually, and Chase is really fast, but somehow each of us managed to make about half of the machine. I even made 3 out of the 5 themed ideas. Even more surprising than that, we came incredibly close to actually completing the entire machine. We literally made all but the last corner of the machine, connections and everything, while I was still there. If we hadn't spent quite as much time watching stuff in his home theater, we might have actually finished the machine!
Another surprise was how reliable the machine was. Almost all aspects of the machine worked fairly reliably while I was at Chase's house, which got out hopes up that the testing phase wouldn't be too bad. Even our partial tests indicated that the machine would work fairly quickly. And that turned out to be mostly accurate. The machine had "only" 47 fails, which is not bad considering how many fails each of us have had to deal with in the past.

Happy 2015 everyone! To kick off the new year, I decided to do something I have never done before: host a contest! For this contest, you must create a Rube Goldberg screenlink clip similar to the clips I made in the Dominoes vs. Rube Goldbergs screenlink collaboration with StarRider (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Wgl6OHfW8g&list=UUBAeMA1Tb6eYkpcvF8sNIKQ). To impress me, your clips should be precise, complicated, or both. Domino clips are not allowed. The contest is open until the end of February. Below are the rules.
Rules:
1) There is no time limit!
2) Do not make an entire Rube Goldberg machine, just one main idea.
3) The camera cannot move, just one single still camera angle.
4) Clips must enter and exit with any of the following materials:
1. Red Domino Rally pivot tracks (highly preferred)
2. Trains and train track
3. Ping pong ball or golf ball on Hot Wheels track
4. Rolling ping pong ball or golf ball
5) Only one entry per person.
6) Do not edit the clips. Leave them the way that they were recorded. (This includes music!)
Once I have all the submissions, I will take all of them and edit them together into a screenlink, with the winner of the contest as the last clip in the screenlink. (Second place will come second to last, third place will come third to last, etc.)
To submit your clip, title your video jackofallspades98 Contest Entry. Then, leave a comment on this video with a link to that video, so you know I cant possibly miss it!
