New Commodore game, 7 years in development Super Mario 64. Developed and released by ZeroPaige in 2019.
Just a quick video of this marvellous achievement on the Commodore 64. The game is pretty much an exact representation of the NES original game and is pushing the C64 hard leading to lots of slowdown with lots onscreen but that does no distract from the achievement.
I've never played much Mario so have no idea on the levels and secrets they hide and that clearly shows in the video ;) If I was to ever decide to longplay the game I would use the Super CPU version to make the whole game play at a normalised speed. but first I would need to read up on all the tricks and secrets of the game. I'm also using the default up to jump here just because that is what we would have used on the c64 back in 1987 if the game had come out then. I would try a better control method.
