This week on the locksmith workbench, things got a little strange… somehow, four combination padlocks all ended up in the same place at the same time. We’ve got an ABUS combination padlock, a classic Master Lock combo lock, a Carbine combination padlock, and then… a random vintage combination padlock turned up to join the party.
In this video, I take a look over all of them, compare the designs, talk about how they work, check out the mechanisms, and have a bit of fun along the way. Some are smooth, some are clunky, one probably hasn’t been opened since the 1980s, and one feels like it survived three wars and a school locker fight.
