This was my final adventure up in Alaska this year. The sockeye salmon (known as Reds) come out of the ocean and into the river, where there are hundreds of anxious fishermen ready to snag them. Sockeye are plankton eaters, so they won't bite a lure, which is why we are trying to snag them. Its really a neat experience!
