Lake Mendota is the largest lake in Madison, WI, covering 9,781 acres with a maximum depth of 83 feet. Known as one of the top fishing lakes in southern Wisconsin, it’s home to trophy walleye, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, perch, and bluegill.
👉 Fun Fact: Lake Mendota is often called the “most studied lake in the world” by scientists because of its long history of ecological research!
