Luca Colombo's take on the X100 sound was already great. I know that because I demoed the original Rocker 83 a couple of years ago. Now Luca has taken the concept several steps further by incorporating his Stellar Chorus (stereo) into the Rocker 83 and adding footswitches for Chorus, Edge/Distortion and Distortion On/Off. The stereo Stellar Chorus is dreamy and the Edge/Distortion tones are spot on with miles of extra gain should you be wanting it. Edge and Distortion each have their own volume controls so you can set up a 2-channel situation and they both share Tone and Gain controls.
The Rocker 83 Stellar Edition is not an X-100 clone. MXR appears to have those rights now. Rather, this is aimed at turning your amp's clean front end into something that sounds very similar. And it does that with extra gain, foot-switchable flexibility and the quality that Colombo Audio Electronics is fast becoming known for. Rock on.
