A deadly earthquake hit Colombia on Monday morning, toppling buildings and burying people under rubble, leaving more than 100 dead in the Pacific region and the central Andes. #colombia #earthquake #news

President Abelardo de la Espriella reported 111 deaths and said nearly 1,600 homes had been damaged and 60 buildings collapsed, with the total likely to continue rising as rescue teams search for survivors.

The earthquake caused significant damage in Colombia's coffee region, with major roads closed due to landslides and operations suspended at five airports in the affected region, and the US government and other countries have offered support.
