White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will depart her role later this month to spend time with her family and will become one of President Donald Trump's top outside advisors. #trump #politics #usa #news

Leavitt said serving as press secretary was taking a toll on her family and she cannot be the best mom to her two young children while devoting the time and energy required of the role.

The president did not immediately name a successor to Leavitt, and the White House did not answer questions about who would replace her.
