I asked what 4th of July drink I should bring back this year, and you picked the Star Spangled Margarita.
Instead of repeating the same thing, I made a new version: the Star Spangled Margarita 2.0. It’s a coconut mezcal margarita with fresh lime juice, cream of coconut, and a smoky twist from mezcal instead of tequila.
In this video, I’ll show you how to make it and explain the difference between tequila and mezcal. I’ve also got a few other 4th of July cocktails and coconut margarita recipes on the channel if you want more ideas.
Star Spangled Margarita 2.0 (Coconut Mezcal Margarita Recipe)
1.5 oz. / 45 ml Mezcal (I used Del Maguey Vida)
.5 oz. / 15 ml Cointreau
1 oz. / 30 ml Lime Juice
.75 oz. / 22 ml Cream of Coconut
Shake ingredients with pebble ice and open pour over more pebble ice.
