U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles provided a helping hand!
Earlier this week, watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound received a request from a partner agency to assist with a medevac of a man from a remote part of the Hoh Valley near Olympic National Park in Washington State.
The man had fallen down a hill and suffered several injuries. EMS and Life Flight were on the scene but could not recover the patient without hoist capabilities.
Clallam County requested assistance from one of our aircrews.
A Port Angeles helicopter crew safely hoisted the man, landed on a nearby logging road, and transferred the man to a waiting Life Flight Network helicopter.
