A U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew rescued four mariners late at night on Oct. 16, 2023, and into the following morning after their 58-foot sailing vessel was reported to have sustained a full loss of power 44 miles south of St. George Island, FL.

The mariners were taken to Air Station Clearwater to receive medical attention from local EMS and no injuries were reported.
Mariners can assist us in their rescue efforts by carrying a radio, an emergency positioning indicating radio beacon (EPIRB), or a personal locator beacon (PLB) to communicate or notify Coast Guard watchstanders when an urgent situation arises at sea.
