Back in 1992 I began videotaping some of the CNW action in Troy Grove, birthplace of legendary Wild Bill Hickok. At this time, I was still living in Las Vegas (1981-1997) but about once a year would come back, rent a car, and in 1994 I made a month-long trip to capture a bunch of railroading across the way of my travels. 1994 was a big year in which I captured the Chicago Central and recorded Mighty Sounds of Trains. I also put together a video of Trains of the Midwest. That time was also the very start of my interest in building models and thus in 1995 began construction of the Mendota IC tower and the diamonds, only for my own amusement.
Anyway, here I have compiled any videos and pics I had of the CNW. I hope you find them interesting. Please check out the many eBooks I have available on Amazon. They are listed at the end. After my friend Harv Kahn passed away I also organized his photos and made his hard work available to the world.
