CNN spent $300 million to launch a new round-the-clock video streaming service called CNN+ on March 29th, 2022. CNN was willing to spend $1 billion on this new project.
CNN+ would provide 8-12 hours of live and original programming a day. There would be an "interactive community" allowing viewers to interact with on-air talent like Chris Wallace, who spent 18 years at Fox News.
Subscribers who joined in the first month paid $2.99 per month.
Fewer than 10,000 people a day, were using CNN+.
On April 30th, 2022, CNN+ ceased operations with no future in sight.
