This is a quick, easy modification showing how you can increase visibility of your climbing sticks by simply applying glow paint to the top step. Credit to Dewey for the idea. As you can see in the video, an ambient glow doesn't last incredibly long (mostly gone in 15 minutes), but you really don't need it to last very long, as you'll be exiting the stand immediately following the end of shooting hours.

Another option for increasing climbing stick mobility is to add reflective tape. The challenge with the reflective tape is that it tends to rub off more easily. However, it does become quite visible with a headlamp. Reflective spray paints are a thing, but they tend to have really poor reviews so I haven't tried it.
