This is a bow hunt on opening weekend where mid-morning scouting led to a hot oak flat on top of a small ridge. This doe had come in before and got nearly right below me quartering to where she picked up my shape in the tree and lightly spooked. The only reasonable tree had me nearly right overtop of the trail and really low to the ground. Upon coming back in to get on the acorns, she cautiously worked in more broadside allowing me to get to full draw and take a shot. This was the first hunt after I'd missed a buck out of state for an earlier opener. I made one slight tweak to my mental approach on the shot, and it allowed me to place the arrow perfectly.
