Mt. Baldy Bowl is a Southern California hiking rite of passage. Hiking Mt. Baldy in winter offers climbers the choice of the standard Ski Hut trail OR the Baldy Bowl, which is essentially the Mt. Baldy mountaineer's route. While we have hiked Mt. Baldy in winter previously, this was our first time climbing the Baldy Bowl, and wow did it live up to the hype! Just please note that the Baldy Bowl is not a standard "hike" - mountaineering gear, prior experience, and careful monitoring of the conditions on Mt. Baldy are 100% crucial to safely attempting this climb.
