Did you know that California has its own Matterhorn Peak? Nestled in the northern end of the Eastern Sierra, just outside Yosemite National Park, America's Matterhorn Peak is a California hiking classic. There are multiple routes to the summit, offering hikers and climbers alike the option to choose your own adventure. We chose to take the standard route up from Twin Lakes in Bridgeport and hike up Horsecreek canyon to Horsecreek pass where we then veered off to summit Matterhorn. We were surprised that this is a lesser known Eastern Sierra hike, because the summit views were some of the best we've seen. Would definitely put this on our list of best eastern Sierra hikes!
