This video shows the E61 maintenance and cleaning of a Rocket Cellini Evoluzione espresso machine. On average, this cleaning should be done every 2-3 weeks on a home-located espresso machine with use every day.
The Puly coffee cleaning powder was used to remove the coffee residues from the brewer group head and was added to the blind filter when backflushing the espresso machine. The alkaline conditions at the high temperature and the high pressure completely remove all the burnt coffee residuals in the commercial-type E61 group head.
The powder manufacturer recommends using one spoon of the powder in the blind filter, as demonstrated in the video. The video further shows how the powder can be dissolved in warm water to manually clean the filter holder and filter baskets.
