The world of late model American classic and collector cars is populated by many great platforms.
Square Bodies and OBS Fords, Fox Bodies and Panthers all have strong followings and great aftermarket support but none of them even come close to the variety and affordably that can be found in General Motors mid size G body platform, which would include mechanical variants in the F Body, S-10 and Astrovan lines.
If we were starting from scratch with no car, no parts and no particular brand loyalties, this is where we would look for a starting point.
