The Chrysler Long Ram setup of the early 1960s is the grandfather of all modern gasoline engine intake manifolds, and in original form produced 390 horsepower.
But for some unexplainable reason, countless engine builders and tuners have failed to reach that power level once these exotic intake manifolds have been transplanted from their original home, often falling as much as 40 horsepower from what was expected
The common element among these efforts? These guys were treating the Long Ram as if it was a Tunnel Ram, and in function they are two completely different animals.
Here's what everyone misses and how to make it right.
