This 1960 sitcom starred Jim Backus as the boss of a low-rent news service (even lower rent than Carl Kolchak's INS). Melody Patterson ('F Troop') made her tv debut playing bit parts in several episodes. One of the directors on the show was Gene Reynolds, who would go on to bring M*A*S*H to tv. Producers Ray Singer and Dick Chevillat were behind one of the funniest entries in the latter days of old-time radio ('The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show'). David Rose composed many enduring tv themes (some under pseudonyms). His theme for this show isn't all that well remembered (like the show itself) but it's one of my favorites.
