A brisk NNW wind was driving waves from the NW, which reflected off the north pier at about a 90˚ angle to create these wonderfully active waves. At surface level, the intersecting waves can produce quickly-bursting and very large pyramidal waves.
The drone is a DJS Phantom 3 advanced which was capable of holding steady in the high winds (15-20 mph as measured at the lighthouse).
