Around when the second season of “Arcane” was coming out I was really feeling the emotional dynamics between Jinx and Vi again. My past song “Cast a Villain” I actually thought fit a lot of Jinx’s experience and saw a unique opportunity to make an uplifting part 2 to the character in that darker song with inspiration from that dynamic. To do that I wrote the story as a duet and brought back some of my favorite vocalists. Quite different from a lot of what I’ve made but I love how it turned out and I hope you do too!

I’ve been itching to create another orchestral/cinematic style song and here it is! I find it really cool to take classical orchestral elements and blend them with powerful electronic basses/synths, which just seem to make the sound that much more impactful. I also didn’t originally intend to include vocals in this one but as I started to play around with some samples I felt they were really able to help elevate the song. Hope you all like it, more to come!

In some of my past songs I experimented a bit with an electric guitar sound, and for this one I went a little crazy on the distortion to try and turn what was a nice guitar into a powerhouse of spooky energy. At the same time recently I have been trying to not overdo it on the high end to make more room for the instruments that often take center stage there such as the vocal and guitar, so in this case that involved putting the bass more in the background than usual. I’m loving the spooky vibes recently though and I hope you are too!
