I consider this song to be one of my favorite songs, as well as one of the most unique songs I have made. This one was also the inspiration for ‘My Way” with its similarly fast paced 4 on the floor kick beat. Likewise with some of my other favorites, this was one where all the pieces just seemed to come together quickly and I remember starting and finishing it within a few days (took me 20 hours of composing during that time). In some of my past songs I experimented a bit with an electric guitar sound, and for this one I went a little crazy on the distortion to try and turn what was a nice guitar into a powerhouse of spooky energy. At the same time recently I have been trying to not overdo it on the high end to make more room for the instruments that often take center stage there such as the vocal and guitar, so in this case that involved putting the bass more in the background than usual. I’m loving the spooky vibes recently though and I hope you are too!
