U-Matic tape S containing footage shot from a Detroit Fire Department fire tug of the riverfront and Belle Isle on August 14, 1990. This tape contains footage of the riverfront from downtown, up river to the Detroit Yacht Club. The footage continues on tapes 2015.008.271 and 2015.008.272.
The camera crew remains in the vacantly of downtown for a series of shots before traveling toward Belle Isle. When they reach the island, they continue up river along the island's Detroit-facing side. During the tip, the crew gets footage of the Renaissance Center, Joe Louis Arena, the Riverfront Towers Apartments during the construction of the third tower, the George W. Young Post Office, the downtown skyline, the People Mover traveling along the track beside Cobo Hall, a sailboat, Riverfront Towers Marina, the LANSDOWNE, Hart Plaza, people on a passing yacht, the STAR OF DETROIT II, the tower of Christ Church, the Rivertown-Warehouse District with the apartments of Lafayette Park standing in the background, the Huron Transposition Company/Interlakes Transportation Incorporated cement freighter J.A.W. IGLEHART docked beside cement silos, the St. Aubin Marina with old Globe Trade Company building in background, a small motor boat, Chene Park, Stroh's River Place, the Harbortown Spinnaker Tower and the Harbortown Apartments, the western end of Belle Isle, the Harbortown Great Lakes Tower, passing underneath the MacArthur Bridge, the Detroit Boat Club, Sheridan Place I and II, River Towers, the U.A.W. Solidarity House, the Alden Park Towers, Detroit Towers, Shoreline East Condominiums, Belle Maison East, the Whittier, the Jeffersonian Apartments, River House Co-Op Apartments, a fishing pier off of Belle Isle's northern shore, Belle Isle's Shelter #8, the Erma Henderson Marina, the Belle Isle beach, the skyline with the MacArthur Bridge in the foreground, the Detroit Yacht Club, and the Manoogian Mansion's boathouse.
The video is on a 3M UCA 30S U-Matic S tape with a handwritten label directly on the tape's shell. The tape is housed in a black plastic latching case with a City of Detroit Department of Public Information Video Production label on in its cover.
