Hotel Park City/Ruth's Chris Super Fans Chris and Chad Lamb join Dave McCann and Blaine Fowler in the Provo studio, opening with a guessing game over which twin-sounding brother is which. The two are the sons of longtime KSL-TV producer/director Terry Lamb, who spent years behind the scenes on BYU football and basketball broadcasts, giving Chris and Chad a front-row seat to the program from an early age. Both brothers went on to work as sideline spotters for Dave and Blaine early in college — Chris in 1993, Chad in 1994 — alongside broadcast partner Craig Bolerjack, and they walk through just how stressful and thankless that job really is: stuck in the worst seat in the stadium, straining to read jersey numbers from the very top row.
The Lambs trace their fandom back to their grandfather, who bought season tickets in the early 1970s (Section 7, Row 28) and passed them down through the family after he died; their grandmother later brought the grandkids to games regularly, with 1984 — BYU's national championship season — marking the start of their real fandom. Their first game in person, though, was a tough one: a 1981 loss to UNLV on Jim Sandusky's game-winning touchdown catch. They also recall watching the 1984 Holiday Bowl win over Michigan broadcast into their local congregation through the LDS Church's satellite system.
A round of "Where Were You?" sends the brothers through more BYU history — in the stands for Ty Detmer's 1990 upset of No. 1 Miami, in the stadium (though not storming the field) for Harvey Unga's 2007 game-winner over Utah, and back again for Zach Wilson's 2019 upset of No. 24 USC. They name a scorching night in Austin watching Taysom Hill run over Texas as their favorite road trip, offer score predictions for both Utah Tech and Arizona, and close with a sweet story about Blaine letting Chris try on his national championship ring in the TV truck years ago.
