This week’s Re-Lyte Athlete of the Week, presented by Redmond — The Secret Is in the Salt — goes to BYU baseball standout Matt Hansen after delivering a huge clutch performance against Texas Tech.

With BYU needing a win to clinch a spot in the Big 12 Conference Tournament, Hansen stepped up in a big way. The sophomore from Colorado Springs blasted a solo home run early in the game before adding a three-run homer later for the first multi-home run game of his BYU career.

His timely power helped lead the Cougars to a dominant 12–3 win and secured BYU’s postseason berth, continuing the program’s major step forward in its second Big 12 season.
