I can vividly remember my first road trips. My Grandpa took me every year from the Sierra to New Mexico... sadly as a kid I never fully appreciated it, I had never left the California coast growing up and to all the sudden realize the world was so big was overwhelming. Later in life I realized it was one of the most significant things you could do for a kid growing up with a single parent.
