Chapter 4 - The Finish

Every day, you’re going to wonder why you’re doing this, but at the end, you’ll know why. Going into this trip, Jabba knew nothing about Iceland, he recounts his arrival as if he had landed on another planet. After spending many days in the saddle crossing the country, he understood why I kept coming back.

The rugged Fjords, the frigid river crossings, coastal plains shrouded in fog, the huts, the people, everything comes together in a way incomparable to anything else I’ve experienced. It was so special to share that with Jabba and the crew during our ride. And it’s a testament to the route itself that by the end Jabba could see exactly why I invited him over there in the first place.

This route encapsulates some of the best of Iceland, it is in itself a four course meal - rich in the varied delights available across the nation. A huge thanks to Snorri þó Tryggvason for building the route, Priority Bicycles for making this trip happen and getting Jabba on the rugged and resilient 600ADX, and to my camera crew Mason Casey and Joel Barger for hauling gear and van across the vast wilderness to support us without fully flipping it.
