China Gets All The Cool Cars... 2026 Volkswagen ID.Aura T6 🤯
The 2026 Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 is a new midsize electric SUV developed by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture specifically for the Chinese market. Measuring approximately 4,811 mm in length and riding on a 2,836 mm wheelbase, the ID. Aura T6 combines a spacious five-seat cabin with a modern EV-focused design. It is built around an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture and features a single rear-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor producing 170 kW (228 hp), allowing the SUV to reach a top speed of 186 km/h.
Power comes from an LFP battery supplied by Gotion, with battery capacities expected to vary depending on the model configuration. The longest-range versions are anticipated to deliver up to 750 km of CLTC driving range, while the larger battery options are expected to fall in the 82–95 kWh range. Despite its substantial size and curb weight of approximately 2,026–2,126 kg, the ID. Aura T6 is designed to offer efficient long-distance electric driving, along with practical features such as a 90-liter front trunk.
Technology is another major focus of the Volkswagen ID. Aura T6. The SUV uses Volkswagen's China Electronic Architecture and is equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor for advanced driver-assistance functions. Its Carizon intelligent driving system, developed through Volkswagen's collaboration with Horizon Robotics and powered by the Journey 6H chip, is expected to support advanced navigation-assisted driving in both urban and highway environments. With its combination of long range, 800V technology, LiDAR, and a spacious midsize SUV body, the 2026 ID. Aura T6 is positioned as one of FAW-Volkswagen's most advanced electric vehicles for China.
