Chenan Mastam is a beautiful Sufi Persian tasnig (song). The title means something line "I am intoxicated". For those unfamiliar with the Sufi tradition, this type of "intoxication" the person is overtaken by God's love.
I first heard this song performed by Mohammad Reza Shajarian. One of the most wonderful artists that Iran gave to the world. He was a very active defensor of his culture and people, among many other beautiful things.
The lyrics of this song are based on a poem by Rumi, (Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī). Once again, another wonderful human being who taught eternal words of wisdom.
