Recently I finished building a ground mount solar array. 5.1kw. But it is like a big kite to catch the wind. Today I added some heavy, thick steel cables. The cables are anchored to the ground by re-using an existing oak tree stump. The solar panels were used for 3 years, then in storage for awhile before I purchased them. The whole array is built for only $2,000 USD. That's very cheap. So I didn't want to sink thousands of dollars into engineering, excavation, concrete, etc.
