The Ladies Sing The Movies, part 4 of 4
This lovely, ethereal theme was from the acclaimed 2001 film, "A Beautiful Mind," that was about the life of mathematician John Nash. Multi-awarded composer James Horner wrote the musical score specifically for then 15-year-old Welsh singer Charlotte Church, using the idea of a kaleidoscope to convey the beauty of mathematics as its "patterns are always changing, and things move very quickly, but in moving so quickly, they create other patterns that move very slowly underneath." He further added that these changing patterns were conveyed with the piano and Church's voice, and it's just remarkable that you could actually sense it while listening to the music; I always thought that this beautiful track should've been released as a single.
