Belgian dance band Charles Remue and his New Stompers Orchestra play "Slippery Elm", composed by Boyd Senter, with hot solos by Charles Remue on alto sax and clarinet¸ Stan Brenders on piano and Alphonse Cox on cornet.
This is one of 14 excellent 'hot' recordings that the band made during its two-day visit to the London recording studios of Edison Bell in late June 1927. The results were released on Edison Bell's "Electron" label, which was launched by the company to emphasise the fact that it has switched over to electrical recordings.
This transfer is taken from a test pressing - the recording was issued on Edison Bell Electron 0161.
