Growing up out in the country in Ireland, Dr. Aileen Keating spent most of her childhood outside or surrounded by animals. She initially wanted to be a veterinarian, but found that she really enjoyed doing research. That lead her to focus on female reproduction, where she studies how chemicals and environmental stressors affect fertility in women in female animals. Her research could lead to improved economic efficiency and animal welfare in production agriculture.
