This suffering street dog had hidden himself away with an excruciating, swollen broken femur and a damaged spine. We whisked him to our hospital but after medical treatment, including 6 weeks of bedrest, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, oodles of love and comfort, he still couldn't stand.

We sadly assumed that Champ would live the rest of his life with permanently damaged hind legs in our area for paralysed dogs, friends with many other dogs who also suffered spinal cord damage. But time passed and a change took place which many of us would have said just wasn't possible. A year after his rescue, meet Champ now!

$With jaw broken in two, sweetest dog pleads for help. With his jaw broken in two, this beautiful boy seemed to plead to his rescuers to help him. He couldnt close or move his jaw, and his face showed utter bewilderment. But he shyly turned on his back in an act of pure submission, his tail wagging as if asking for help to stop the pain. When we sedated him and saw the full extent of the fractures in his jaw, we were truly worried that we might not be able to save him. But we tried our best. To our delight, he responded extremely well to the sutures, and was ready to start eating (on a liquid diet) by day 3. From then, we knew this incredibly sweet boy was going to thrive. Even in this puppys first weeks, his life force sparkles around him despite a devastating open fracture wound to his paw, and a wound on his head. He would have surely died if he hadnt been rescued. His mother literally gave the sweetest kiss as if to say “thank you” to our rescuer as he gently lifted her baby. Once on the treatment table the darling puppy was deeply confused and exhausted, but it only took a few days for him to feel so much better that he became a persuasive little play organiser with his new friend.
