Hey everyone!
This is a chained pattern in 7. The concept is pretty fun: it's about taking a looped pattern (here, it's in 7: TAtaTATAtaTAta, over a 16th notes subdivision, "TA" is a played note and "ta" isn't), play it with one limb, and then you play the same pattern with another limb, but starting it on the LAST played note of the first limb, and then a third limb plays and so on! You find yourself playing the same pattern but in 4D :D
On the kit, it's about orchestrating the pattern in different ways so it can sound like a real melodic/rhythmic composition.
Recorded, filmed and mixed at Studio Cuadra
These are the Remo Inc. colortone heads (color red).
I hope you enjoyed it!
Don't forget to subscribe to get noticed for future videos ;)
Cheers!

If you wanna dive deeper into how to create and master this kind of original rhythm, and use polymeters in your playing, compositions and creativity in general, I wrote a drum method, The Polyrhythm Odyssey, dedicated to it. You can find it here:

To anyone that would like the related DRUMS SHEET
An already-written sheet gives the answer. It's by trying to write it yourself that you will understand how things interlock together and that you'll make some concrete progress! Don't hesitate to DM me on instagram so I can check if you got it right.
But if you don't wanna bother, you can buy it straight away on my website:
